New Dacia Sandero debuts before Paris Motor Show
The second generation of the Dacia Sandero has been revealed by the Romanian automaker, before the car’s official debut at the end of September during the 2012 Paris Motor Show where it will be showcased along with the new Logan. It is scheduled to hit the dealerships in United Kingdom in January next year when Dacia will be launched officially in UK. It uses the same platform as other models in Dacia’s lineup but it adopts a considerably different look in comparison to the model it plans on replacing.
The front end of the car draws its inspiration from the Duster, while the interior looks a lot better than the one of the outgoing model.
According to Dacia, the interior cabin of the new Sandero will be the most generous in this segment, offering 320 liters of storage space when the seats are up and up to 1200 liters if the seats are folded down. The car will be shown at the Paris show along with the more masculine Stepway version when Dacia will also reveal the technical details and the price list for the new model.
We can assume that the engines will be shared with the second generation of the Logan and according to various rumors both cars are expected to get a small 0.9-liter, 3-cylinder turbo engine that produces approximately 89 hp (66 kW). Other potential engines include a 1.6-liter gasoline and a 1.5-liter diesel, but at the moment these are only speculations so we should wait for the full Paris reveal.
