The 2015 Opel Cascada mid-size convertible is now available with a new four-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbodiesel engine. The motor made its debut in the Zafira Tourer and Insignia a while back and now can be ordered on the open-top model where it delivers the same output of 170 PS (125 kW) while the peak torque stands at 400 Nm (295 lb-ft). In comparison to the engine it replaces, this new version has 3% more horsepower and 14% more torque.
When working with a six-speed manual transmission, the 2015 Opel Cascada 2.0 CDTI has an average fuel consumption of 4.9 liters / 100 km and will emit just 129 g/km, thus making it 6% more efficient than the previous variant.
In terms of performance, it will need 10.3 seconds to get from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) and will be able to reach a maximum speed of 135 mph (218 km/h).
Opel is already selling this new model and in Germany it can be had from €30,500 (VAT included). Starting late summer, the 2015 Opel Cascada will be available with the company’s personal and service assistant called OnStar. It has a built-in 4G LTE connectivity and support for Wi-Fi hotspot with up to seven devices connected at the same time.
