Opel unveils 2015 Corsa OPC with 207 HP

Opel has taken the wraps off the 2015 Corsa OPC which will make its public debut about a month from now at the Geneva Motor Show. Its heart and soul is a 1.6-liter Turbo ECOTEC four-cylinder engine outputting 207 HP (152 kW) and a peak torque of 280 Nm (206 lb-ft) sent to the front wheels via 6-speed manual transmission. It helps the model sprint to 62 mph (100 km/h) from a standstill in 6.8 seconds on its way onto a top speed of 143 mph (230 km/h). The model rides as standard on 17-inch wheels with Michelin 215/45 R17 tires but for more money clients can opt for 18-inch rims.

The 2015 Corsa OPC comes with a subtle rear spoiler attached onto the trunk lid but Opel is also offering an optional larger spoiler which they say helps generate more downforce on the rear axle. The back of the car boasts a dual exhaust setup from Remus and we also notice a diffuser.

Stopping power comes from a braking system optimized by OPC with 308mm front discs while for more money there’s a Brembo kit with larger 330mm front discs. The latter is part of an optional Performance Package which also includes a stiffer chassis, 18-inch wheels and a mechanical multi-disc differential from Drexel.

Moving inside the cabin, the 2015 Corsa OPC is nicely equipped with Recaro performance seats, flat-bottomed steering wheel, sport pedals, IntelliLink infotainment system and an OPC gear knob.
