Peugeot has released a photo with the 208 T16 Pikes Peak wearing the race livery. Featuring the well-known Red Bull theme, the special 208 benefits from a carbon fiber body and comes with a tubular steel frame chassis. Other important changes include high-performance brakes, sport-tuned suspension and the bespoke magnesium alloys shod in Michelin tires. Sebastien Loeb will drive the car in the Unlimited Class and will have to travel over a 20 km-long course which consists of no less than 156 turns as well as a 1500-meter elevation change.
Power of the Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak comes from a V6 3.2-liter twin-turbo mill generating 875 bhp. The engine is mated to a 6-speed sequential gearbox sending the entire horsepower to all four wheels. With a curb weight of only 875 kg, the vehicle can sprint to 100 km/h in an amazing 1.8 seconds.
