Peugeot takes the wraps off the all-new 308 SW
Peugeot has revealed online the second generation of the 308 SW which will get its first public outing in March at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. The vehicle’s main attraction is the generous cargo capacity which stands at 610 liters, the exact same figure offered by the Skoda Octavia Combi. However, the king in this segment remains the Honda Civic Tourer which has a massive 624-liter boot. Peugeot has managed to extract an additional 140 liters compared to the hatchback by increasing the vehicle’s length from 4253mm to 4580mm.
As you would expect, the 308 SW will be offered with the same array of gasoline and diesel engines as its five-door hatchback cousin, including a very frugal BlueHDi version which will emit just 85 g/km of CO2. Peugeot’s new wagon rides on the EMP2 platform and has gone through a massive 140 kg diet compared to the model it replaces.
Sales of the new Peugeot 308 SW will start in the spring, following the car’s debut in Geneva.
