Porsche 918 Spyder is faster than originally estimated
Porsche has updated the performance numbers for the 918 Spyder which as it turns out is even faster than originally conceived. For example, the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) sprint was thought to be done in 2.7 seconds but eventually it was proved the task is accomplished in only 2.5 seconds. Moreover, the variant fitted with the optional Weissach kit will hit 124 mph (200 km/h) from a standstill in 7.2 seconds, which is 0.5s less than before. Porsche has also reduced the time to get to 186 mph (300 km/h) to 19.9 seconds, representing a decrease of 2.1 seconds.
When the Porsche 918 Spyder is running in electric mode it will do 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 6.2 seconds, which is 0.7s less than originally conceived. Once fitted with the aforementioned Weissach package, the supercar will do it in just 6.1 seconds. In addition, the car has been proved to be the fastest vehicle with global homologation to lap the Nürburgring, with a time of 6m 57s.
