Radical Xtreme Coupe breaks cover

Radical has introduced several days ago the Xtreme Coupe which comes with a V6 3.7-liter engine sourced from Ford. This power unit is capable of outputting 380 hp at 6,750 rpm and 320 lb-ft of torque reached at 4,250 rpm. Radical announced that they plan on producing both road-legal and track-only versions of the Xtreme Coupe.

The race car will be able to compete in international GT events as well as sportscar championships, while its road-going counterpart is envisioned as a vehicle for road trips, race weekends and track days.

The vehicle tips the scales at only 900 kg and it provides the RXC with a power-to-weight ratio of 422 hp per ton. 0-62 mph takes 2.8 seconds with the power being sent to the wheels in the back through a 7-speed gearbox provided by Quaife with paddle shifters. This will be Radical’s widest and longest model that they have ever made, being 1960mm wide and 430mm long, with a height of 1127mm. Its features composite body sections under which there’s a tubular steel spaceframe featuring FIA-approved front/rear crash structures while the suspension consists of a front and rear wishbone configuration.

It can produce up to 900 kg of downforce at top speed thanks to its front and rear diffusers as well as the full with bi-plane rear wing made from carbon fiber. The RXC comes with gullwing doors and rides on 17-inch alloy wheels. The braking system consists of 6-pot calipers with 330mm discs for the front axle and 310mm discs at the back.
