Subaru announces pricing for WRX and WRX STI special editions in US
Subaru divulged pricing details for the U.S.-only special editions of the 2013 WRX and WRX STI. The cars made their debut in 2012 at the SEMA show and are now available on order for a starting price of $28,795 for the WRX and $34,795 for the WRX STI. The cars feature jet black alloy wheels, Tangerine Orange Pearl paint, black front fender badging and black exterior mirrors. The WRX will be limited to 200 cars while the WRX STI will get 100 units. Both of them have a dark interior trim, black headliner, front fog lamps, as well as orange stitching on the doors, boot and seats. The floor mats have also been orange-trimmed.
Under the hood of the cars is a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder turbocharged engine pumping out 265 hp (198 kW) and 330 Nm (244 lb-ft) for the standard WRX version, while in the more potent WRX STI the engine delivers 305 hp (227 kW) and 393 Nm (290 lb-ft) of torque. The WRX STI has also been fitted by Subaru with the proprietary Multi-Mode Vehicle Dynamics Control and Intelligent Drive systems.
In select markets (including UK), Subaru has decided to stop offering the WRX STI.
