Subaru launching Levorg GT in United Kingdom
Subaru has disclosed plans to start selling the Levorg GT in United Kingdom from September. The model was launched in Japan last year and is now heading towards UK dealers exclusively with a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder DIT Boxer gasoline engine which produces 170 PS (125 kW) and a peak torque of 250 Nm (184 lb-ft). All that power is transferred to Subaru’s symmetrical all-wheel drive system via a revised variant of the Lineatronic CVT gearbox which has a manual model that mimics a six-speed manual transmission.
There’s no word yet about the availability of the larger 2.0-liter engine that in the JDM-spec Levorg churns a generous 300 PS (221 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) through a Sport Lineatronic gearbox. Subaru says the UK-spec Levorg GT will be one of the company’s most refined models ever and will feature premium materials, sports seats, newest passive and active safety tech, along with Subaru’s latest developments in infotainment systems.
It’s not known at this point whether Subaru will decide to sell the Levorg GT in other European countries, following the model’s debut in UK this fall at a still undisclosed price tag. Full details including pricing will be announced closer to the model’s market launch.
