The Design of the New Huracan Evo Spyder

The new Huracan Evo Spyder continues the aerodynamic superiority of the Spyder, with five times the downforce and efficiency of the original Huracan Spyder, with the roof up or down. Occupants can expect a quiet cockpit and minimised cabin airflow. Enlarged air intakes and an improved front splitter on the front bumper gives the EVO Spyder increased aerodynamic efficiency with an assertive look. Not to be left out the rear end of the Huracan Evo Spyder was also redesigned. The new rear end design was inspired by Lamborghini Huracan race cars and naked race bikes. A new sports exhaust system is located high in the rear bumper and features twin outlets.

To further emphasize the Huracan Evo Spyder’s aerodynamics a slotted spoiler increases air flow. Aerodynamics isn’t just about the exterior body shape you can see it’s also about the exterior you can’t see. That is why the underbody has been shaped to increase aerodynamic efficiency.

The Spyder’s roof line is accentuated by a lightweight soft top when up. When the soft top is down the roof is hidden in an efficient space and showcases the Spyder’s striking lines. The soft top features electrohydraulics that can retract the roof in 17 seconds at driving speeds up to 31 mph. As the top lowers two fins located at the rear rise upwards. The fins which are the same color as the body of the Spyder rise from the folding roof casing. Once the fins are in place they continue the line to the rear and enhance the Spyder’s dynamic appearance. The fins feature integrated ducts that according to our friends at Lamborghini of Broward, FL are designed to reduce turbulence while driving with the top down.

The Spyder is powered by a 5.2-liter Lamborghini V10 engine producing 640 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque. The Huracan Evo Spyder has a top speed of 202 mph thanks to its aerodynamic design and Laborghini’s powerful engine. Continuing Lamborghini’s legacy of high performance the Spyder can go from 0 to 62 mph in 3.1 seconds and 0-124 miles per hour in 9.3 seconds.

The Huracan Evo Spyder is offered in a range of colors include Verde Selvans, a new Lamborghini four-layer green. Lamborghini also offers several exterior style packages and lightweight materials including, Lamborghini’s patented Carbon Skin and Carbon Forged Composite. The interior features a new 8.4-inch HMI touchscreen display featuring multi-finger gesture control. Optional for the interior is a new EVO Trim in Alcantara and leather mix featuring stitching and trim details that match the Spyder’s body tone.
