This could be the Corvette Stingray Convertible
Just a few days ago we saw the seventh generation of the Chevrolet Corvette (C7) being unveiled in Detroit at this year’s edition of the North American International Auto Show. We also found out it will wear the Stingray moniker which hasn’t been the case for several decades. Today we bring something very interesting as these could turn out to be the images of the convertible version. It is important to mention that General Motors denied the authenticity of these shots but there’s one major reason why some people consider these as being the real deal.
This is because the source of the photos is Maisto’s website, a well-known producer of scale models. Since such companies need to see the real thing before they come up with die-cast toy vehicles, they surely have received from GM renders with the convertible version of the Chevrolet Corvette. In addition, judging by the quality of the renders, these could pass for official images released by General Motors.
The differences between the convertible and the cabrio – aside from the obvious roof – include a different rear as the spoiler of the coupe will probably not be carried onto the convertible. In addition, the wheels appear to be slightly smaller than they are on the coupe.
