Toyota teases 2016 Avalon facelift

Toyota has released a teaser image for the 2016 Avalon facelift scheduled to premiere next week at Chicago Auto Show. The full-size sedan is currently in its fourth generation and will soon get a mid-cycle update to keep the model fresh and competitive. Based on what we see in this teaser image, Toyota has enlarged the front grille even more while the amount of chrome accents has been toned down a little bit. Also noticeable are the different graphics of the headlights which feature LED daytime running lights while the vertical fog lights also benefit from LED technology.

Don’t expect any changes underneath the hood so the 2016 Avalon facelift will likely continue with a V6 3.5-liter engine outputting 268 bhp and 248 lb-ft channeled to the wheels through a 6-speed automatic transmission. Those who are interested in this model can also get it as a hybrid with a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine working with an electric motor and a nickel-metal 245-volt hydride battery.

The 2016 Avalon facelift will be officially unveiled on February 12 at the Chicago Auto Show.
