New details about Toyota’s highly anticipated hydrogen-powered vehicle have surfaced the Internet, ahead of what is known to be a confirmed 2015 market release. The vehicle has already been previewed by the FCV-R concept and it’s programmed to make its public debut at the Tokyo Motor Show. Reports are indicating that the car will utilize a modified architecture which has underpinned the Lexus HS 250h and the Toyota Sai models. Toyota’s 2015 hydrogen vehicle is likely to hold as much as 11 pounds (5 kg) of compressed hydrogen which should be enough for a range of up to 311 miles (500 km) before running out of juice.
After the hydrogen container is emptied, it will take only about three minutes to fill it up again. The Toyota hydrogen car will provide somewhere in the region of 136 HP and will have a starting price of approximately 50,000 USD.
