Volkswagen Touareg X launched
Volkswagen has announced the Touareg X will be sold in the United States as a way to celebrate the model’s tenth anniversary. As you would imagine, the car got its name after the Roman numeral for ten and it has received numerous goodies such as 19-inch rims, silver anodized trim and tinted windows. Step inside the cabin and you will find illuminated door sill plates, an ebony wood trim, black headliner, faux aluminum pedal covers and Vienna leather seats. Also part of the package are the heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof and GPS navigation.
Under the hood there is a V6 3.0-liter turbodiesel engine outputting 240 bhp and a peak torque of 550 Nm. The engine sends its power to the 4MOTION all-wheel drive system through an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
Volkswagen plans on selling 1,000 units of the Touareg X, with pricing kicking off at $56,170.
