Zender unleashes Abarth 500 Corsa Stradale concept
Zender has returned in the tuning business earlier this month during the Frankfurt Motor Show with the Abarth 500 Corsa Stradale concept which is the pure definition of a pocket rocket. It comes with a 1.6-liter, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that has gained an extra 76 bhp in comparison to the regular Abarth-tuned version. As a result, the car is now able to provide no less than 236 bhp and a peak torque of 247 lb-ft thanks to a reworked fuel injection system, a bigger turbocharger, revised engine management and a larger fuel pressure regulator. There’s also a new stainless steel exhaust system and modified camshafts and pistons.
Zender has equipped the Abarth 500 Corsa Stradale with 18-inch alloy wheels covered in 215/35 ZR18 Pirelli P Zero Black performance tires. The interior now hosts custom sport seats, stainless steel pedals and illuminated door sill strips. The vehicle will do the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run in 6.5 seconds so it’s 0.7s faster than the standard model. It can now can achieve a top speed of 144 mph (232 km/h) which is a bit more than what the Abarth-prepared model can do.
