2014 Toyota 4Runner breaks cover

Japanese automaker Toyota has recently revealed the 2014 4Runner which will be sold with one of the following three trims: SR5, Limited and Trail. Power will come exclusively from a 4.0-liter V6 mill capable of producing 270 bhp and 278 lb-ft of torque, sent to all four wheels or just two of them through an ECT-I five-speed automatic gearbox. The 4×2 model will do 17 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway, while the 4×4 variant returns an EPA-estimated 17 mpg city / 22 mpg highway. Toyota says the latest 4Runner has a maximum towing capacity of 5,000 pounds. All versions have a built-in tow-hitch receiver as well as wiring harness.

SR5 and Limited models can receive a third-row seating configuration. SR5 benefits from an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, while the more premium Limited variant has leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat and four-way passenger’s seat. An optional feature available at extra cost is the navigation system which sports a seven-inch screen.

There’s also an Entune infotainment system and a new in-glass antenna. It is important to mention the second row of seats features a 40/20/40 layout and benefits from a one-touch, walk-in function that enables passengers to access the third row of seats considerably easier.
