The 2015 Hyundai i40 will be offered with a four-cylinder 1.7-liter turbodiesel engine developing 115 HP (85 kW) and 280 Nm (206 lb-ft) while a more powerful version of the same engine is rated at 141 HP (104 kW) and 340 Nm (251 lb-ft). Opt for the beefier variant and you can optionally get it with a newly developed dual-clutch seven-speed automatic transmission promising to bring reduced fuel consumption and manual control thanks to the paddles mounted behind the steering wheel.

Another novelty for the 2015 Hyundai i40 is the implementation of a speed limit identification function which will analyze the road signs and then show the speed limit on the new TFT screen installed in the instrument panel.
