2015 Subaru WRX STI unveiled at NAIAS in Detroit
The 2015 WRX STI has been unveiled by Subaru at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. It received a very aggressive body kit with a big rear wing, 18-inch alloys and 245/40 R18 performance tires. The vehicle comes with an inverted strut front suspension and a driver-controlled multi-mode center mechanical differential. More importantly, the WRX STI is equipped with Subaru’s symmetrical all-wheel drive system working together with a six-speed manual transmission. Its heart and soul is a 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder turbocharged boxer gasoline engine delivering 305 bhp at 6,000 rpm and 290 lb-ft of peak torque at 4,000 rpm.
Subaru is also introducing a Launch Edition for the 2015 WRX which will be available for just three months starting April. Only 1,000 units will be built and these will be distinguished by the WR Blue paint, gold BBS forged alloy wheels and several enhancements throughout the cabin such as the STI short-throw shifter.
