Subaru has lifted the veils off the WRX STI S207 special edition in Japan at the ongoing Tokyo Motor Show. Only 400 units will ever be made and all are destined for the domestic market where the customers will be able to enjoy the uprated 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbo engine that now churns an impressive 328 PS and 431 Nm which makes it 20 PS and 38 Nm more powerful than before. The added oomph was possible by updating the turbocharger, remapping the motor’s ECU and also installing a performance muffler that comes with a lowered back pressure and is paired to a new rear exhaust pipe.
The Subaru WRX STI S207 gets 19-inch BBS forged alloy wheels finished in black and wrapped around in 255/35 R19 tires while the more aggressive body includes a dry carbon rear spoiler. Other goodies part of the deal include the Bilstein front struts, rear dampers and front & rear coil springs, along with different bumpers, bigger front under-spoiler and a mesh pattern for the grille.
Once you get inside, the high-performance sedan will welcome you with heated Recaro bucket seats, a bespoke instrument panel, new steering wheel and gear knob as well as a special engine switch. Customers can order the car with a WR Blue Pearl, Crystal White Pearl, Crystal Black Silica or a Sunrise Yellow paint and all cars have special badging both inside and out.
