2016 Nissan Titan XD goes official in Detroit

The brand new 2016 Nissan Titan XD is currently being showcased at the North American International Auto Show hosted in Detroit. Featuring LED headlights & taillights, the “XD” serves as a standalone model within the new Titan lineup and will be slotted above the regular Titan. Its heart and soul is a newly developed V8 5.0-liter Cummins turbodiesel engine that pushes out an impressive 310 bhp (231 kW) and a peak torque of 752 Nm (555 lb-ft). This beefy motor allows the pick-up truck to have a payload capacity of more than 2,000 pounds and a maximum towing capacity in excess of 12,000 pounds.

Nissan says they will offer the new Titan in Crew Cab, King Cab and Single Cab versions which will be available with three different bed lengths. Customers will have the possibility of selecting from a generous array of trim levels such as Pro-4X, Platinum Reverse variant. The 2016 Nissan Titan XD will get both two- and four-wheel drive layouts across the range, except for the Pro-4X which will be sold exclusively with a four-wheel drive configuration.


Stepping inside the cabin, the 2016 Nissan Titan XD provides an additional 33 percent front and 28 percent rear storage area, along with a 12-speaker audio system, five-inch color display, 12-volt and 120-volt power outlets, plus a seven-inch touchscreen display part of the NissanConnectSM infotainment system.
