The BMW X4 has been transformed into a police car by AC Schnitzer for this year’s TUNE IT! SAFE! car presented at the Essen Motor Show. The German tuner was previously in charge of three similar vehicles as back in 2009 they modified a BMW 123d Coupe, followed a year later by a MINI E while last year they tweaked the BMW 428i Coupe. Now they worked on the X4 in the 20i specification and managed to increase power of the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine from 184 HP to 245 HP.
As a result, the car now sprints to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 6.7 seconds and will need 17.5 seconds for the 50 – 112 mph (80 – 180 km/h) run before topping out at 132 mph (212 km/h). It also comes with an aerodynamic body kit matched with 22-inch rims featuring an anthracite finish and wrapped around in Hankook Ventus S1evo tires measuring 265/30 R22.
Other modifications for this BMW X4 include carbon fiber mirror covers, chromed exhaust pipes, lowered suspension kit (30mm front / 25mm rear), Hella flashing lights, velour floor mats and a police RTK 7 signaling system. As a final touch, AC Schnitzer has added a custom handbrake handle and an aluminum pedal set including footrest.
