A rare matte blue Audi R8 GT Spyder was stolen last weekend from German dealer Pegasus in Mönchengladbach. Audi built only 333 units of this version and now one of the cars was reported as stolen on the night between Friday and Saturday. The open-top R8 supercar was actually seen on Saturday morning on the A61 road at around 4:30 in the morning and it was probably heading to Köln. The bad news is no further other details are available at this point which could help the authorities apprehend the criminal. Aside from this vehicle, an additional two other high-end sports cars were also stolen that night.
The Audi R8 GT Spyder came out back in 2011 with a €207,800 starting price in Germany while in the United States there were 50 units commercialized, each priced at $210,000. It sits 10mm lower than the R8 V10 Spyder 5.2 quattro upon which is based and benefits from carbon fiber front spoiler, rear wing and rear diffuser, while the LED headlights have been tinted.
The Audi R8 GT Spyder weighs 1,640 kg and packs a 560 HP & 540 Nm punch from the familiar 5.2-liter V10 naturally-aspirated engine sending power through a six-speed R tronic gearbox to the quattro all-wheel drive system. It needs just 3.8 seconds to cover the 0-100 km/h sprint and can reach a maximum speed of 317 km/h.
