BMW concludes M3 Coupe production

Today we bring rather sad news as BMW has announced the very last M3 Coupe has rolled off the production line last week. The model began production back in 2007 and up until now the Bavarian company built 40,000 units. Aside from the coupe, BMW manufactured 10,000 sedans and around 16,000 convertibles. Speaking of the cabrio, it will remain in production until this September. As most of you have already heard this by now, the M3 Coupe and M3 Convertible will be replaced next year by the M4 Coupe and M4 Convertible.

The M3 nameplate will be reserved from now on only for the sedan body style. All three cars are rumored to be powered by a six-cylinder, twin-turbo, 3.0-liter engine rated at around 450 bhp (335 kW) and a peak torque of 405 lb-ft (550 Nm). This should enable the sedan (due early 2014) to hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.2 seconds and an electronically-limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
