BMW updates Competition Package for M6

BMW has revised the Competition Package available for the M6 family. It’s scheduled to go on sale this July for the M6 Coupe, M6 Convertible and M6 Gran Coupe, bringing a 40 hp and 20 Nm power increase for the TwinPower Turbo V8 4.0-liter engine which will develop a total of 600 hp and a maximum torque of 700 Nm. The fixed roof versions will run the sprint to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.9 seconds while the open-top M6 will need an additional 0.1 seconds because of the higher curb weight.

The Competition Package also brings a revised suspension, updated steering system, an optimized Dynamic Stability Control system, reworked Active M Differential and modified anti-roll bars. It also encompasses 20-inch M bi-color lightweight alloys wheels, black chrome exhaust tips and tweaked dampers.
BMW will electronically limit top speed to 155 mph (250 km/h), but an optional M Driver’s Package available at an additional cost will bump speed to 190 mph (305 km/h).
