Chances are Chevrolet is planning to bring the Sonic RS on European territory where it will be known as the Aveo RS. A Russian website by the name of autowp.ru has uploaded a pic which apparently shows the Euro-spec Aveo RS. An official announcement is likely to occur in the near future and most likely the car will get the same 1.4-liter turbocharged Ecotec engine with an output of 138 bhp (103 kW) and 148 lb-ft (200 Nm). This engine should be connected to a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. The car sits on the same 17-inch five-spoke alloy wheels as the U.S.-spec model and wears virtually the same body kit.
Although we don’t have photos of the interior yet, we can only assume the 2013 Chevrolet Aveo RS will have leather-wrapped front bucket seats, red stitching on the shift knob and steering wheel, aluminum sport pedals and revised instrument panel cluster graphics. The European model will probably be available with this attractive orange paint scheme, while its American cousin can be had with one of the following colors: Black Granite Metallic, Cyber Gray Metallic, Victory Red and Summit White.
