Chevrolet is introducing the Colorado Performance concept created in collaboration with motocross racer Ricky Carmichael. Set to be showcased this week at SEMA in Las Vegas, the mid-size pickup truck has been equipped with a tailgate extender suitable for securing bikes. Moreover, the concept has different mounting hardware which enables the installation of bigger items like kayaks, bikes and boards above the bed which means there will be room left in the bed for smaller stuff like tents and sleeping bags. The body of the vehicle comes with a unique matte gray finish combined with glossy silver and yellow accents and Carmichael’s signature.
The Chevrolet Colorado Performance concept features 17-inch alloy wheels with yellow accents and wrapped around in Goodyear Duratec off-road tires. It can also be distinguished by its sport bar mounted in the bed, along with yellow accents inside the cabin where there’s also Carmichael’s racing number 4 which has been embroidered in the headrests.
Motivation is provided by a V6 3.6-liter engine outputting 305 bhp and a maximum torque of 269 lb-ft. The engine has remained stock but the standard exhaust system was replaced with a performance variant.
