Custom Aston Martin DB7 with V8 engine will be auctioned

The Aston Martin DB7 is already a great car but when you make it even better, it’s even more special. This is what a member of the Saudi Arabian Royal family wanted from this 1998 DB7 when he commissioned a bespoke model from the British automaker. Unlike the standard versions that are powered by either a 6-cylinder 335 hp engine or the massive V12 Vantage with 420 hp, this one-off has a 6.4-liter V8 engine borrowed and custom-fitted from the AMR1 racing car. It’s truly a unique car since with this engine it’s more powerful than the V12 Vantage of that time. The list of changes doesn’t end here since in order to make the engine changes, the engineers at Aston Martin had to adopt more bulging hood lines.

This special 1998 Aston Martin DB7 has also been fitted with AP Racing brakes, as well as uprated steering and suspension for matching the additional horsepower fired by the new engine. It has been driven for just 3,200 miles (5,180 km) so it’s safe to assume that it is in a very good shape.
