Disco Volante Touring teased ahead of Geneva reveal
At the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera presented the Disco Volante Touring concept which due to the reason that it didn’t have any running components it was described as a simple styling exercise.
Now, they are teasing the production version of the car which will be showcased at the beginning of next month during the 2013 edition of the Geneva Motor Show. The car will receive several styling modifications compared to the preview concept shown last year.
Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera has announced that the Disco Volante Touring production-ready model will adopt several panels manufactured from carbon fiber and head-beaten aluminum. Under the hood it will have the same engine which powers the rare and beautiful Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione. We don’t know if this power unit will be tweaked, but we remind you that the stock variant of the 4.7-liter V8 engine is capable of generating 450 HP (331 kW) and a maximum torque of 470 Nm (347 lb-ft).
The styling of the car will closely resemble some of the models that Alfa Romeo has launched in the last few years, which can only mean that we should expect to see a pretty attractive car with the soul of the 8C Competizione.
