Ferrari 458 Scuderia could have more than 600 HP and lose 100 kg
Chances are Ferrari will introduce a more hardcore version of the stunning 458 Italia in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Set to be known as the 458 Scuderia (or Monte Carlo / Challenge Stradale), this more powerful 458 will allegedly get the same V8 4.5-liter engine but with a remapped ECU and a different exhaust system. As a result of these changes, the mill will output more than 600 HP (441 kW), representing an increase of at least 30 HP (22 kW) in comparison to the standard 458 Italia. Other than that, it will also adopt an aero body kit with a different front bumper, bigger air intakes and possibly with active carbon fiber winglets on the rear diffuser.
In addition, the Ferrari 458 Scuderia is expected to go through a drastic diet which will lower its weight by around 220 lbs (100 kg), meaning it will tip the scales at about 2,822 lbs (1,280 kg). More power and less weight will result in a quicker 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) time than the Italia which completes this process in 3.4 seconds. Top speed should also go beyond the current 202 mph (325 km/h) of the Italia.
