First photos of Volkswagen Beetle Dune Concept published
What we have here are the first two official images depicting the 2014 Volkswagen Beetle Dune Concept which will show its face today at NAIAS in Detroit. The concept is rumored to receive a production sibling sometime next year and is actually a follow-up to a similar concept introduced by VW back in 2000 which obviously was based on the previous generation of the Beetle. The new one comes with rugged looks highlighted by the flared wheel arches, protective plates, big alloy wheels and several black molding.
Inside the cabin there are yellow accents and instead of the glove box department there’s now a handle. Power comes from a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter gasoline mill outputting 210 HP transferred to the ground with help from a dual-clutch six-speed DSG transmission.
