Hennessey modifies the McLaren MP4-12C

The McLaren MP4-12C is one of those cars that basically don’t need tuning but nevertheless there are some aftermarket companies who like to fiddle with the British supercar. One such tuner is Hennessey as they have prepared an HPE700 package which doesn’t come with exterior cosmetic changes.

The modifications can be found within the engine bay where the American tuner has optimized the ECU and uprated the intercooler. In addition, they also modified the dual air induction filters and installed a stainless steel sport exhaust system.

As a result of these extensive changes, output of the V8 3.8-liter twin-turbo engine has increased by 88 bhp and 96 lb-ft to a grand total of 704 bhp and 538 lb-ft of torque. In this configuration, the McLaren MP4-12C by Hennessey will run the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) sprint in 2.8 seconds and will need just 10.3 seconds to run the quarter mile at 137 mph (220 km/h).
