McLaren launches track-only 12C GT Sprint

McLaren is introducing the 12C GT Sprint as a new model to bridge the gap between the road-going MP4-12C and the track-only GT3. This new variant is also a track-only model and is powered by the familiar 3.8-liter twin-turbo engine outputting 625 HP (459 kW) and working together with the firm’s twin-clutch seven-speed gearbox. The vehicle benefits from a lightweight carbon MonoCell chassis and has a recalibrated/retuned PCC suspension to match the Pirelli racing slick tires and the 40mm reduced ride height. McLaren fitted this new model with a GT3-derived hood featuring front wing louvers and radiator exit ducts.

Other highlights worth mentioning include the center-locking 19-inch OZ rims, an FIA-approved rollcage and an incorporated fire extinguisher. There’s also a HANS-approved fully adjustable composite racing seat featuring six-point harness, together with a carbon fiber dashboard and a lighter AC system.

All these can be had at a starting price below 200,000 pounds.
