This has to be one of the most impressive tuning programs developed for the Hyundai Elantra GT as the professionals at Bisimoto Engineering have managed to increase the output of the modest 1.6-liter, 4-cylinder engine to more than 600 hp, a huge increase in comparison to the standard 148 hp figure. Extensive work has been put into creating this custom Elantra GT that is scheduled to make its public debut next week at this year’s edition of the SEMA show. To get to that impressive engine output they installed a Turbonetics turbocharger, forged Arias pistons and custom con-rods.
Aside from the healthy power increase, Bisimoto Engineering (located in California) has done several tweaks both on the inside and on the exterior of this Elantra GT. Some of the changes include 18-inch alloy wheels, an ARK custom body kit, a JFN full rollcage, a coilover suspension, custom sway bar, along with harnesses and racing seats.
This could very well be the most powerful Hyundai Elantra GT in the world, but there are extremely slim chances of seeing a production version based on this tuning program or even at least a similar one with fewer ponies. Nevertheless, it’s still very impressive to see that an aftermarket specialist is capable of squeezing more than 600 hp from only a 1.6-liter engine.
