Volkswagen Amarok gains V8 engine from MTM

MTM will be showcasing this month at the Geneva Motor Show a heavily modified version of the Volkswagen Amarok. The German pick-up truck has went through an engine transplant as the model is now motivated by a large V8 4.2-liter TDI motor as opposed to its stock four-cylinder turbodiesels. Output of the eight-cylinder engine stands at 410 bhp and 930 Nm which enables the Amarok to hit 62 mph (100 km/h) from a standstill in just six seconds on its way to a top speed of 138 mph (222 km/h).

MTM’s engineers have replaced the Amarok’s leaf spring rear axle with a Panhard rod with air springs, while the rear axle benefits as standard from disc brakes whereas the front ones measure 405 x 36 mm. The Volkswagen Amarok you see in these images provided by MTM has been configured with BBS SV 22-inch rims shod in Michelin Latitude tires measuring 295/40.
