Infiniti Q50 announced

Infiniti is introducing its new nomenclature structure with the arrival of the Q50 which is set to tackle in the premium sports sedan segment. This is a replacement for the G37 model and adopts a double arch front grille with a crescent-cut C-pillar.

There’s also a side “character” line which is integrated seamlessly with the LED taillights. The vehicle is 4783mm long, 1824mm wide and 1443mm tall, with a 2850mm wheelbase. Infiniti says the car has a drag coefficient of only 0.26 and has no lift on both front & rear axles.

Arriving in the United States this summer, the Infiniti Q50 will be sold with an all-aluminum V6 3.7-liter engine pumping out 328 HP and 269 lb-ft of torque. There’s also going to be a hybrid variant featuring a V6 3.5-liter generating 320 HP and 258 lb-ft, working together with the electric motor which produces an extra 67 HP and 199 lb-ft, for a combined output of 360 HP.

Both engines are connected to a 7-speed automatic gearbox featuring paddle shifters, and can be ordered in RWD or AWD configurations. The car has been fitted with a multi-link suspension and rides on 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped around in run-flat tires measuring 225/55. For more money the Q50 can be ordered with 19-inch sport rims with 245/45 tires.
