Jaguar XE S officially revealed, goes on sale next year
After months of teasing, Jaguar has finally revealed the 2015 XE S which will be shown at next month’s Paris Motor Show together with the rest of the XE lineup. This hotter version will be equipped with a V6 3.0-liter supercharged engine rated at 340 PS and 450 Nm sent to the road through an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Thanks to this hardware configuration, the XE S will need only 4.9 seconds to cover the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) sprint before hitting an electronically-limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
Lesser models are getting several 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter Ingenium gasoline and diesel engines and all cars will have electric power steering, new modular platform using more than 75 percent aluminum and a double wishbone front suspension combined with an integral link rear setup.
The Jaguar XE will also have an All Surface Progress Control system adjusting the powertrain and brakes to provide the best traction possible at speeds between 2.2 mph and 18.6 mph. It will also come with several safety features such as reverse traffic detection, traffic sign recognition and an autonomous emergency braking system.
