Mercedes-Benz teases 2014 S-Class
Mercedes-Benz has recently released a video teaser for the upcoming 2014 S-Class which will be unveiled on Wednesday in Germany. According to various reports, the car will be sold at first in a S350 BlueTEC version powered by a 3.0-liter V6 diesel outputting 258 HP (190 kW) and a peak torque of 620 Nm (457 lb-ft). It should be enough to hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in 6.8 seconds, onto a maximum speed of 155 mph (250 km/h) which will probably be electronically limited.
There will also be the S500 with a 4.7-liter V8 gasoline power unit rated at 455 HP (335 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft). 0-62 mph should take 4.8 seconds, onto the same top speed. The S400 Hybrid is likely to make use of a hybridized 3.5-liter V6 churning 306 HP (225 kW) and 370 Nm (273 lb-ft), enough for a 0-62 mph sprint in 6.8 seconds and the same top speed.
