MINI shows the John Cooper Works concept before Detroit debut in January

MINI has announced plans to show a John Cooper Works concept in January 2014 at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit to serve as a preview for a production model likely to come before the end of next year. The concept showcased in these official pics provided by MINI wears an exclusive Bright Highways Grey paint job with red accents and unique 18-inch rims. It has been equipped with a more aggressive body kit that includes enlarged air intakes occupying the place where you would normally find the fog lights on the lesser versions.

MINI hasn’t disclosed details about what will power the JCW version but recent rumors indicate the vehicle is going to get a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbocharged engine capable of churning approximately 217 bhp which is a great number for such a small car.
