Renault Twin’Run Concept breaks cover

French automaker Renault has officially revealed the interesting Twin’Run concept which is powered by the engine taken from the Megane Trophy. It’s a mid-mounted 3.5-liter V6 mill churning 316 bhp at 6,800 rpm and a peak torque of 280 lb-ft reached at 4,850 rpm. All those ponies are transferred to the rear wheels with the help of a 6-speed sequential transmission plus a limited slip differential. As a result of this hardware configuration, the concept needs only 4.5 seconds until 62 mph (100 km/h) and it will keep on accelerating until it hits a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).

The Renault Twin’Run concept comes with a tubular chassis, fiberglass body panels, along with carbon fiber front splitter, roof, rear vent and wheel arches which have helped to achieve a curb weight of only 950 kg (2,094 lbs). It rides on 18-inch alloys with Michelin tires and can stop efficiently thanks to vented discs featuring six-piston calipers for the front axle and four-piston calipers at the back.
