Volkswagen is now selling the e-Golf in Germany

Volkswagen is now selling the first ever electric version of the Golf in Germany where it carries a starting price of 34,900 euros. For this money you will be getting a German hatchback powered by an electric motor which delivers 115 HP and 270 Nm of torque, enough to provide the vehicle with a 0-37 mph (0-60 km/h) run in 4.2 seconds while the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint takes a decent 10.4 seconds. Volkswagen mentions the range of the e-Golf varies between 81 miles (130 km) and 118 miles (190 km), depending on the traffic conditions, route and driving style.

The e-Golf comes with an 8-year / 160,000 km guarantee for the battery pack which has a capacity of 24.2 kWh and enables the model to have running costs of approximately 3.28 euros for each 100 km. The model is nicely configured as standard with goodies such as a leather steering wheel, heated windscreen, aero-optimized alloy wheels, Discover Pro infotainment system, LED headlights with C-shaped LED daytime running lights, along with low-rolling resistance tires and automatic climate control.
