Volkswagen Polo GTI facelift comes with more power
Volkswagen has unveiled a facelift for the Polo GTI which will premiere in about two weeks at the Paris Motor Show. The hot supermini has received a sportier front bumper as well as red accents and a honeycomb pattern for the front grille. More visual tweaks can be noticed at the back where there’s a restyled bumper together with a dual exhaust setup. Moving inside the cabin, there’s a flat-bottomed steering wheel, glossy black accents, red contrast stitching along with sport seats with plaid upholstery.
Motivation for the Volkswagen Polo GTI is provided by a 4-cylinder 1.8-liter engine outputting 192 PS and a maximum torque of 320 Nm. It’s enough to allow the vehicle sprint to 62 mph (100 km/h) in only 6.7 seconds en route to a top speed of 148 mph (236 km/h). The powerful engine can be connected to either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a dual clutch DSG transmission.
