Volkswagen Saveiro Surf unveiled in Brazil
The Saveiro Surf concept has been unveiled this week by Volkswagen ahead of the vehicle’s debut at the end of the month during the Sao Paulo Motor Show in Brazil. It is based on the Fox but has been converted to a single-cab and benefits from 15-inch rims that have a Sepang design. Moreover, Volkswagen has implemented a honeycomb patter for the car’s front grille and there’s also a mounting roof bar to carry additional cargo when the bed area is not sufficient.
Motivation of the Volkswagen Saveiro Surf concept comes from a four-cylinder, 1.6-liter naturally aspirated engine developing 104 HP (76 kW) when running on ethanol. It can also work on gasoline but the output is a little bit down as Volkswagen says the engine churns 101 HP (74 kW). This motor is coupled to a five-speed manual gearbox sending power to the front axle.
The list of standard goodies includes an adjustable steering wheel, air conditioning system, front airbags and aluminum pedals. The concept will be showcased starting October 30 in Brazil at the 2014 Sao Paulo Motor Show.
