Volvo updates V70, XC70 and S80

Swedish automaker Volvo has launched this week the facelifted V70, XC70 and S80. All three will make their public debut next month at the Geneva Motor Show and come with a slightly modified design with new bumpers. The XC70 features plastic body cladding for the front bumper, while all three cars pack new taillights, updated front grille, as well as more chrome and matte trim. On the inside there is a new infotainment system with a seven-inch display, along with a digital instrument cluster. Optionally available are the heated windscreen, Active High Beam Control, various IntelliSafe systems and a three-spoke heated steering wheel.

Volvo’s engineers have revised the entire engine lineup to lower CO2 emissions and increase fuel economy. Clients can order one of the three with a 4-cylinder 1.6-liter T4 gasoline engine producing 180 HP (132 kW) and 177 lb-ft (240 Nm) of torque. There’s also a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbocharged T5 gasoline mill generating 240 HP (177 kW) and 236 lb-ft (320 Nm) of torque.

Volvo also offers a 5-cylinder, 2.5-ltier turbocharged T5 with 249 HP (183 kW) and 265 lb-ft (365 Nm) of torque, followed by a 3.2-liter inline-six gasoline engine pumping out 243 HP (179 kW) and 236 lb-ft (320 Nm) of torque. The most powerful gasoline engine is the turbocharged 3.0-liter, six-cylinder T6 with 304 HP (224 kW) and 324 lb-ft (440 Nm). Diesels are also available, with output varying from 115 HP (84 kW) to 215 HP (158 kW).
