2014 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG unleashed
Mercedes-Benz has released this week its crown jewel, the 2014 S65 AMG which will sit on top of the revamped S-Class range. Its heart and soul is the mighty V12 6.0-liter twin-turbo engine delivering 630 HP and a peak torque of 1,000 Nm sent to all four wheels through a 7-speed automatic transmissions. Thanks to this hardware setup, the S65 AMG will perform the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in just 4.3 seconds on its way to a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h) which will be electronically limited. The car has a fuel consumption of 11.9 liters / 100 km and CO2 emissions of 279 g/km.
The high-performance saloon sits on 20-inch alloys shod in 255/40 R20 front and 285/35 R20 rear tires. For more money clients can configure their car with ceramic composite brakes which are 20 percent lighter than stock ones and feature 420mm discs with brake calipers painted in a special color. The car will be offered only as a long wheelbase model and will feature Magic Body Control and Road Surface Scan.
The 2014 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG is scheduled to hit the market next March and it will start at 232,050 euros in Germany.
