2015 Mercedes-Benz S600 showcased in Detroit
Mercedes-Benz has recently added a new member to its growing S-Class lineup by introducing the S600 at NAIAS. The model is powered by a V12 6.0-liter twin-turbo gasoline engine outputting 530 HP and a maximum torque of 830 Nm. It also benefits from a start/stop system which enables the luxury German sedan to consume 11.1 liters / 100 km (21.1 mpg US or 25.4 mpg UK) which represents a very good figure taking into account we are dealing with a massive 12-cylinder engine. Mercedes-Benz says the model is programmed to hit dealerships in March and in the meantime they will disclose pricing details.
They did provide some additional details about the S600 such as the fact that it comes with Magic Body Control and is based on the long wheelbase variant. It also benefits from an LED Intelligent Light System and is bundled with a Driving Assistance Plus package encompassing Active Blind Spot Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, as well as BAS PLUS with Cross-Traffic Assist.
