2016 Toyota Land Cruiser breaks cover

The 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser facelift is making its online appearance and will be going on sale before the year’s end. As you can see from the attached gallery, it has gained a somewhat upscale look with a redesigned front end hosing a three-bar aluminum grille that continues in the new projector-style LED headlights. The designers also worked on the hoot, fenders, bumpers and they even made some changes to the door handles and side protection moldings, but even so it’s easy to notice the car itself looks dated. Some changes at the back were also made as the LED taillights now have a different look and are connected through a thick chrome bar.

The interior cabin also hosts a variety of tweaks such as new dials and switches, more soft touch plastics and an extra storage are in the center console. Other novelties include a 12V outlet, wireless charging, a 4.2-inch instrument cluster display and a 9-inch screen replacing the previous 8-inch display for the infotainment system.

Depending on market, the 2016 Land Cruiser facelift can be had with a 4.5-liter twin-turbodiesel that comes with new injectors, a diesel particulate filter and updated mapping which has increased output by 7 PS to 272 PS while maintaining torque at 650 Nm. There’s also a V8 4.6-liter gasoline engine which now meets Euro 5 regulations and continues to deliver 308 PS and 439 Nm.
