ABT tunes the Volkswagen Golf R to 400 PS
ABT decided to infuse more power into an already menacing five-door hot hatchback, the Volkswagen Golf R. Their main focus was on the four-cylinder 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine which has received the tuner’s Power S control unit as well as a sport catalytic convertor. These hardware changes have enabled the motor to develop an additional 100 PS (73 kW) and 100 Nm of torque which means the Golf R by ABT seen in these images offers no less than 400 PS (294 kW) and 480 Nm of torque.
Details about the car’s performances have not been provided, with the exception of top speed which stands at more than 186 mph (300 km/h). Besides the power bump, ABT is also offering branded floor mats, an adjustable suspension, aerodynamic side skirts, an updated front grille along with a variety of alloy wheels ranging in sizes from 18 to 20 inches.
