All-new Ford Galaxy officially revealed

The next generation Ford Galaxy has made its online debut with an evolutionary design featuring an Aston Martin-inspired front grille as seen on other recent Ford models. The full-size MPV looks a lot like the S-MAX and has received the company’s SYNC2 infotainment system along with a hands-free liftgate which allows the owner to open and close it by making a kicking motion underneath the rear bumper. The cabin features seven full-size seats and the second and third rows of seats can be folded flat for those times when you need the additional space to carry more voluminous items.

Compared to the old model, those sitting on the third row seats are able to benefit from an extra 40mm of headroom as well as from an armrest, storage bins and cup holders. There’s a hidden storage under the trunk floor with a 20-liter capacity while the door bins can carry 1.5-liter bottles. The Ford Galaxy also has a media storage area located in the center stack, additional cargo room in the instrument panel top and there’s also a standard child-watch mirror.

As far as the engines are concerned, the MPV can get a 1.5-liter EcoBoost with 160 HP or a 2.0-liter EcoBoost with 240 HP. There’s also a 2.0-liter TDCi available with 120 HP, 150 HP and 180 HP, as well as a beefier bi-turbodiesel 2.0-liter TDCi rated at 210 HP and 450 Nm of torque.
