Ford has unveiled the facelifted Ranger which comes with a wide array of enhancements both inside and out. First up, the engineers have revised the 3.2-liter five-cylinder Duratorq turbodiesel engine and managed to lower fuel consumption by 18% thanks to a new exhaust gas recirculation system. The engine develops 200 HP and 470 Nm and just like all the others it can be paired with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic. Another engine available is a 2.2-liter 4-cylinder Duratorq with 160 HP and 385 Nm. Select markets are also getting a high efficiency version of this smaller diesel with 130 HP, providing 22% increased fuel economy.
The facelifted Ranger will also be offered with a 2.5-liter Duratec gasoline engine pumping out 166 HP and 225 Nm. Opt for the 4×4 variant and you will benefit from an electronically-controlled transfer case as well as low-range gearing. Featuring a towing capacity of 3,500 kg, the 2015 Ford Ranger comes with updated suspension and steering systems that will provide improved comfort.
Inside the cabin there’s a SYNC 2 infotainment system packing an eight-inch touchscreen along with a series of safety and assistance systems such as cruise control, front & rear park assist, lane keeping aid, lane keeping alert along with hill launch and descent.
