Audi RS6 Avant Plus under development
Today we bring some interesting news from Audi as the boss of the quattro division has confirmed they are working on an even more powerful version of the recently unveiled RS6 Avant. It will get the Plus moniker and will come with more power, weight saving measures and other tweaks as well. We remind you that the regular RS6 Avant pumps out an impressive 560 HP (412 kW) but the Plus variant is set to come with 608 HP (447 kW). Also good news is the fact that it won’t be limited in quantities nor it will be a special edition variant. It will be just like it is now with the TT RS Plus and the flagship R8 V10 Plus.
In an interview given to CAR, quattro chief Stephan Reil said the company is working on additional RS Plus models that will be launched in the future. All will suffer suspension tweaks and will go through a diet. For example, the already available R8 V10 Plus has lost 110 lbs (50 kg) and is available with a custom suspension.
Stephan Reil said that chances of seeing an RS5 Plus are slim since the car’s V8 4.2-liter engine is already almost fully exploited and there isn’t a lot of room available for any improvements in terms of increasing its power output.
